Kinda running from memory here so bear with me. The last three gaming sessions have all been on the same day and they have all ran together but I am going to include them all into one update.
When we last read the blog Thalinor and Travin were in the mist with a very skilled and successful assassin. Mordek was a 9 foot trog and in pursuit of one of D'gru's lackeys. Taneus was in the midst of trying to figure out who to help first. Mordek, now a dwarf again, gets some licks in and grapples his half elf quarry. Taneus begins launching magic missiles at the grappled half elf. The city guard continues to close on the companions. They see a large trog chasing a man that is valiantly trying to fend the fiend off with a light crossbow. The other and separate detachment of guards sees a large ball of mist where none should exist. Taneus inadvertently slays the half elf under Mordek, who is trying to incapacitate the assassin's companion. Travin and Thalinor are trying to find the drow in the mist and not having much luck. In desperation, Travin exits the mist and following his locate object spell intuits a direction in which to search. The guards reach the aasimer just as the poison coursing his veins takes its decisive and final toll on the priest. He falls dead at their feet. Mordek, realizing that the half elf is no longer among the living stands to face the oncoming guards. The guards approach the dwarf with trepidation and place him under arrest for the murder of the half elf. The half breeds belongings are searched at Mordek's behest. Poison and other contraband are found. In the interim, Taneus hot foots it back to the temple to let the priests know that they have just been waylaid in the street. The guards that witness Travin's fall, hoist and bear the priest to the temple of Pelor. Taneus alters himself to look like Chamberlain Rextall, and approaches Mordek and the city guard. He tells the guard that Mordek is in his (Rextall's)employ. The guards ask if the killing of the half elf was one of Mordeks duties to Rextall of the Crown, to which Taneus answers in the negative. Despite Taneus' best efforts, Mordek is arrested. Taneus does afford himself an opportunity to speak with Mordek in private. He manages to slip the dwarf a ring of spell storing with the spell "gaseous form" inside. Now with an almost infallible means of escape, Mordek is lead off to the garrison. Taneus arrives back at the temple in time to find Travin dead and Morga calling for a stone of sufficient worth to wrest the priest back from the jaws of death. Thalinor and Taneus, with there battles with the killing poison won, discuss there options. Another companion is slain in just a few hours since the first, whilst another is being led off to face justice. The two venture back out, in acolyte of Pelor robes, for information about the justice system and to reconnoiter the cult of Gr'zzt. They take a run a Leftix Curiosities, where Leftix asks if they are members of the adventurers guild and, not that he is complaining, but thought they could get deals there. The festivities are in full swing at the adventurers guild as the challenge of champions begins the following day as does the tournament parade. Taneus and Thalinor make use of the money changer. Returning to the temple to gather up the newly raised Travin, the party takes the opportunity to warn the temple of WeeJas that there are cultists and impostors among their ranks. This provokes a swift and savage house cleaning by the high priestess. A few manage to escape her wrath however only to run headlong into the trio that were waiting outside for just such an eventuality.
Mordek is ushered into the garrison where he is officially charged and stripped of his belongings. Fearing it may be detected, Mordek swallows the ring of spell storing. He is deloused and led into the bowels of the building. Mordek, injured as he is, comes out on the wrong side of an altercation with a ruffian in his cell. Though he lost, he gave as good as he got. This prompted a pair of dwarves to approach Mordek with a plan, they are getting out but need someone to handle the big guy so as not to give him a reason to try to come along or spoil their plans of escape. Mordek refuses and the pair search elsewhere. Mordek again enters into a dust up with man only to be rendered unconscious once again. Mordek awakens just in time for chow and shortly thereafter for the torches to be extinguished. The two dwarves after recruiting a svirfneblin to handle the big guy make there move. Mordek after hearing how long most of the people have been down here, gives up his hope for a speedy trial and the notion of clearing his good name. He, to, prepares to abscond from justice.
This post may not be entirely accurate but my goal was to give a reasonable account of the events that transpired in an attempt to merely catch up the blog. I believe its ok if I have left anything major out let me know and I can add it. This should catch us up and I can begin to update as the games are played...hopefully.
